Music Monday: June roundup

It’s that thing again. New album comes out, old albums are dragged out for fresh hearings, artist makes the top three. I’m glad that Anastacia is well and creating again; I had missed her voice. Resurrection is a good album, even if her eponymous third one, from a decade ago, is likely to remain my favourite for the foreseeable future.

Diabolus in Musica is a medieval ensemble, one that I enjoy a lot, despite them dealing mostly in secular songs rather than the timeless Gregorian chant I love so much. I have no idea how I managed to listen to them so much this month. That’s another of those things.

On the other hand, the Northern Kings don’t need explanations; we covered them a few weeks ago. They’re just awesome, and will climb even higher on my overall charts. Hey guys, where’s that original album you promised four years ago?

1. Diabolus in Musica (141)
2. Northern Kings (100)
3. Anastacia (96)
