Music Monday: Daemonia Nymphe

Just what I needed to get through the weekend: finding out that my favourite Hellenic neoclassicists had a new album out, after six years of silence. Yippee! Psychostasia is a very enjoyable work, and let commentators say whatever. It even includes the closest thing to a hit single – the title track, just below. They’re not everyone’s idea of a folk band, and my mum would be majorly weirded out if I played such stuff around her, but darnit, I want to see them live now!

Speaking of which, this was (weirdly) on the BBC business news site a couple of days ago: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-24611454

An archaeologist claims to have figured out how to read ancient Greek musical notation.
